I was up in the attic over the weekend assessing the current insulation so I could plan a more effective insulation configuration. Back in the mid 1940s it seems the then owner decided to do some insulation and collected a lot of Newspapers over a couple year period at the end of World War II. They covered the floor of the attic as well as the 2 ends. Later in the mid 1970s my Dad had plow in insulation installed in the walls and attic. So I currently have a varying amount a blown in fiberglass insulation over 70 year old Newspaper. So far I have found The Washington Post, The Evening Star, Washington Times Herald, with more to come.
